  1. 1. I think that she enjoys being "the boss" because she gets to make her own rules, and doesn't need to fit in to anyone else's mold. It is clear that she has been through a lot to get where she is, but at the same time, I think that she has always been the boss of her own life, and she seems like she's a pretty spunky and confident person.

    2. I think that she avoids the topic of her scar because she doesn't want it to define her. She wants people to see past her scar, and by emphasizing her scar, it works against that. She presents it in a very matter of fact and nonchalant matter, which makes the reader forget about it in a way.

    3. I do agree with Fey to some extent about women in society, but I think that as the years have gone on since this book was published, gender norms and "perfect" bodies have been minimized.

  2. 1. I think she enjoys being the boss because she believes she has earned it. She has climbed her way to the top, but it has in no way been effortless. She is proud of her title, yet does not like people kowtowing to her.

    2. It seems that she thinks that it is personal. Obviously, it was a bad experience for her and it is understandable why she wouldn't really want to talk about it. At the same time, I think she wants to keep the element of mystery about herself and let people keep guessing.

    3. I agree to some extent about what she says about woman in society. She sometimes seems to lean to the more extreme side of things, however most of what she says is very true to real life.
